Kassa Nova’s App Tops the Best Mobile Banking Tools in Kazakhstan

The Kassa Nova bank is known in Kazakhstan as a digitally focused financial institution, offering smart and flexible products for small and medium-sized businesses, as well as for retail customers. It is also the brainchild of a high-profile Kazakhstani investor and public figure, Bulat Utemuratov, who is one of the major players of the country’s banking sector. From the very beginning of its activity, the Kassa Nova bank was marketed as a concept institution based on microcredit principles and innovative technology to deliver fast and simple loans to its target audience.

Within such a concept, it was a kind of expected that the bank would focus on improving online tools, currently available on the banking market. And it really did by launching its My Kassa application, which was recognized as one of the top three user-friendly mobile applications in 2017.

The largest Russian usability company USABILITYLAB conducted a study of the effectiveness of mobile banking applications – "Usability rating of mobile applications of Kazakhstan banks in 2017". According to the results, Kassa Nova’s My Kassa app ranks the second among 11 best banking mobile applications.

USABILITYLAB was founded in 2006 and since that time has implemented more than 1,800 projects on designing, auditing and improving user interfaces of various information systems, sites and mobile applications, which covers a major part of the Russian market of professional usability services. The company also cooperates with leading usability companies around the world and holds the annual professional conference "User eXperience".

Their study on mobile applications of Kazakhstani banks assessed the functionality and usability based on special methodology exploring eight basic user scenarios from viewing account information to making various payments. The study methodology included interviews with focus groups and usability testing, while taking into account the latest trends of online banking development, new technologies in mobile devices and comments of market participants.

The My Kassa mobile app allows users to register and immediately start using the application in a couple of clicks by adding a card of any bank. It offers over 400 types of fee-free services, remote account and deposit management, setting limits for online purchases, as well as withdrawal, depositing and converting of funds directly from a mobile phone. This application along with other bank’s tools and products fully comply with the smart technology concept established by the bank’s main investor, Bulat Utemuratov.
